Super accurate flight characteristics using a virtual wind tunnel. If you own a fast multi-core machine you will be able to simulate more aircraft around you and see more details but even with a moderate machine X-Plane 10 Global is capable of displaying a tremendous amount of objects without slowing down. X-Plane 10 Global is built with the future in mind and makes full use of the hardware in your system. It’s still simulated but it gets very close to real aviation! Just like real pilots do, you will watch their take-off to be prepared for what your take-off will be like. They will fight the same cross winds and turbulence as you encounter, they will need more runway to stop when the weather conditions are not favorable. Those other aircraft are not robotic as they are in other simulators, but they interact with the world in the same way as your own aircraft does. Each aircraft flies just as it should, from the glider to the Space Shuttle!Īir Traffic Control will guide you from startup to shut-down and also controls the other aircraft around you. The realism of X-Plane 10 Global is proven by the fact that X-Plane is used as a certified training tool. Equally capable of simulating every type of aircraft, the virtual pilot is able to experience the challenges of flying big airliners or tiny ultra-light aircraft. The core is a virtual wind tunnel that creates the most realistic flight modeling available on a desktop. The completely new rendering engine shows the world around you in high detail and with global illumination so lights behave like real lights. With thousands of compatible add-ons there is no kind of flying craft that is not simulated and there is a whole world to explore.īoasting a 20 year old pedigree, X-Plane utilizes Incredible cloudscapes to bring the sky to life whilst the ground depicts real-world roads, cities, towns and more to ensure the most realistic flying experience possible. This latest version of X-Plane 10 brings numerous improvements and enhancements for PC, Mac and Linux virtual pilots, unleashing the power of modern systems with its 64 bit processing and multi-core support.ĭesigned to be the most flexible flight simulator it has a fully open structure that allows the enthusiast to change every part. Can't conclude that PE is correctly handling Com1 and Com2.īe willing to follow a more thorough test protocol to get o the bottom of this.X-Plane 10 Global is the latest version of a simulator that has been in development continuously for almost 20 years. Not sure if this is a full and exhaustive test, but I didn't want to tie up the frequencies with debugging. Switched Com2 to a CTAF frequency as requested but was not being heard by PE ATC. Called in for radio check in PE switched between Twr, Gnd and Apr (talked to Keith, I believe) but was told that both Com1 and Com2 were coming in to the same place. For the first time I could see the XMit change between the values of 6 and 7 as it should. Took Keith's advice and enabled item 96 in the Data Output/Shoe in Cockpit. Bought the PolyPot software and it works well with it. Bought a GoFlight P8 button panel, found it won't work or even be detected under XP11. Same thing using the Sim Innovations Com panels. Using the default XP11 radios there is no way of getting the active Xmit to switch between Com1 and Com2. I've been struggling with the Com 1/Com2 issue. So just a quick check that this issue described by Keith is resolved in xplane 11 so you dont have to do any keyboard mapping to switch box to transmit on as it seems to work fine for this quick test I did. I didnt play with any keyboard mappings and use the fire button on the joystick to transmit and it worked just fine. (Thank you to the controller that helped me if you are reading this) I just did a quick check for the first time on xplane 11 with a Seminole and I did a radio check on both box1 and box 2 with different frequences at KVNY (ground and clearance) using the airplane intercom. I hadnt been using com2 in xplane with pilotedge at all so far, but as I am now about to start the i ratings I figured it was important to get this working properly. The work around described by Keith is to have a key map to switch it when using pilotedge. He mentions an issue in xplane 10 - that in if you wish to switch the box you are transmitting on using the airplane intercom buttons that does not switch correctly as it should. So I was watching the I-1 rating video that Keith did some time back (2016).
